The showdown between the two teams with the best records in the National League continued on Friday in Chavez Ravine and second round in the series again went to the Atlanta Braves.

In winning 6-3, the visitors built a 5-0 early lead and survived a three-run Dodger rally in the bottom of the ninth.

The Dodgers are now 83-51, while the Braves are 89-45. They remain leaders in the NL West and the NL East by wide margins.

Starter Julio Urias (11-8) had an off-night, giving up nine hits and five earned runs in five innings. He was touched for three home runs.

Max Fried (6-1) was sharp for Atlanta, as he lasted seven innings and yielded just three hits and no runs. He struck out 10 batters and walked two.

The Dodgers were limited to six hits, the biggest being a pinch-hit three-run home run by Kolton Wong in the eighth.

The teams will play again on Saturday with a 6:10 p.m. start time. Braves won Thursday’s game by 8-7.
