A pedestrian was struck twice by cars and died from his injuries in a traffic accident Friday night in Huntington Beach.

According to Jessica Cuchilla, public affairs officer for the HBPD, the incident took place at around 10 p.m. at Warner Avenue and Beach Boulevard involving a 2022 Lexus, a 2011 Ford and the walker.

Arriving officers found the pedestrian, a 55-year-old Huntington Beach resident, in the roadway. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. It’s not known if impairment was a factor in the incident.

The preliminary investigation indicted that the Lexus was traveling eastbound on Warner in the “slow” lane just west of Beach when it struck the pedestrian, who was not in a crosswalk. The Ford – also eastbound – was in the middle lane and hit the pedestrian moments later.

The drivers of the motor vehicles remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Impairment did not appear to be a factor with the drivers, say police.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it is encouraged to contact Traffic Investigator V. Rattanchandani at (714) 536-5231.
