On a sunny Easter Sunday in Arlington, the Los Angeles Dodgers won a game … but may have lost another starting pitcher.
The Blue Crew prevailed 1-0 over the Texas Rangers for their fifth win in six games and to improve their record to 16-7 and a near-tie for the National League West lead with the San Diego Padres (15-6),
But starter Tyler Glasnow came out of the game with lower leg cramps in the fifth inning. He had been sailing along to that point, striking out six batters and walking only one and allowed three hits and no runs.
If Glasnow has more than a passing irritation, he might join Blake Snell and Tony Gonsolin on the sidelines.
However, what’s clear is that a scoreless tie was broken up in the top of the eighth inning, Freddie Freeman lifted a high fly ball to left field that allowed Will Smith to score from third base with the game’s only run.
NEXT UP: The Dodgers have Monday off and will resume action on Tuesday to start a two-game set visiting the Chicago Cubs (14-10).
