AT LEAST THREE AREA softball teams are in the CIF-SS quarterfinals on Wednesday (Flickr).

At least three local high school softball teams survived the second round of the CIF-SS playoffs and will be back in action for the quarterfinals on Wednesday.

Marina blanked San Clemente 7-0 and will visit St. Paul in Division 3.

In Division 7, Westminster bested Fillmore 14-8 and will visit El Monte. Orange edged Tustin 3-2 in 11 innings and will face Cathedral City in Division 8 play.

In a Division 7 game between Los Amigos and Culver City, the Lobos lost 4-0.

In second round action on Saturday, in Division 1, Huntington Beach lost 4-0 to Chino Hills. Rancho Alamitos was defeated 17-8 by Hawthorne in Division 8.
