UPDATE: Stockton police say that Miguel Lopez allegedly shot another man – who was critically wounded – and killed himself after driving from Garden Grove to Stockton.
––––––––
A 35-year-old resident of Lodi is the suspect in the fatal shooting of his wife in Garden Grove today (Thursday) and is connected to a second shooting incident in Stockton.
According to Sgt. Nick Jensen of the GGPD, the suspect is Miguel Lopez and the victim is Crystal Gonzalez, 37, also a Lodi resident.
Officers were dispatched to a home in the 11500 block of Morgan Lane around 8:05 a.m. A female juvenile called police saying “her mom needed help.”
Arriving officers found the dead woman, later identified as Gonzales. Two girls in the home and their mother were staying in the residence. The girls were unharmed.
Investigators determined that Lopez, who had left, was the father of the girls and husband to the victim.
Family members told police that his vehicle was in Stockton and police from that city were “on scene.”
GGPD investigators learned from Stockton PD that Lopez was involved in a shooting incident in their city this morning. It was confirmed that he had been seen leaving the Garden Grove home “very early” this morning.
Anyone with more information about the case is asked to contact Detective Rogers at (714) 741-5413.
