Halos, Dodgers post losses

THE DODGERS and Angels each suffered losses on Tuesday

It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t terrific.
Both of the Los Angeles-Orange County baseball teams suffered losses on Tuesday. The Angels were defeated by the Toronto Blue Jays 4-2, while the Dodgers fell 3-1 to the San Francisco Giants.

For the Halos it meant four losses in a row, going 1-4 in their initial homestand in Anaheim and third place in the American League West.

For the Blue Crew, it meant tumbling into a tie for the National League West with the red-hot San Diego Padres, who have won 9 of their last 10 games.

The visitors from Ontario broke up a 1-1 tie with three runs in the top of the eighth inning snd went on to the win. The Angels collected just five hits, including two by Oswald Peraza, who is batting .292.

Jack Kockanowicz pitched well, lasting 5.2 innings and yielding five hits and one earned run. He struck out one batter while walking two batters.

In San Francisco, the Giants scored three times in the first inning and went on to the win. The Dodgers were held to three hits. Landen Roupp worked five innings and yielded just one hit and one earned run. He walked five batters but struck out seven as he improved his record to 4-1.

Yoshi Yamamoto (2-2) went seven innings and gave up six hits and three earned runs. He struck out seven batters and walked two.
On Wednesday, the Angels will host the Blue Jays with Jose Soriano (5-0) getting the start. The Dodgers will face the Giants, with Shohei Ohtani (2-0) starting.
