Once again, the Anaheim Ducks were unable to close the sale in the NHL West first round, losing 4-1 to the Edmonton Oilers and pushing the series to at least one more game.
The Oilers scored three times in the first period. They were led by center Leon Draisaitl, who scored two goals for the visitors. The sole Ducks score came in the second period by Alex Kilkorn. Cutter Gauthier and Mason McTavish shared credit for the assist.
With the Ducks leading three games to two, Game Six will be in Anaheim on Thursday. If the series goes seven games, the concluding contest will be back in Edmonton on Saturday, May 2.
• Leading their NBA Western Conference first round series three games to one, the Los Angeles Lakers will host the Houston Rockets on Wednesday. The Lake Show won the first three games, but Houston rallied to a 115-96 victory, extending the series to a fifth game.
If there’s a need for a sixth game, it will be on Friday in Houston.
