After losing nine out of 10 games, the Los Angeles Angels finally got a refreshing taste of victory on Friday, soaking the Texas Rangers in a shower of four home runs in Anaheim.

The Halos jumped out to a 4-0 first inning lead with two home runs – a solo busted by Zach Neto and a three-run round-tripper by Wade Meckler.

After the Angels built a 6-0 lead, the Rangers battled back into the game with three runs in the fourth and one each in the sixth and seventh innings to close within 6-5.

But the Halos rallied with homers in the seventh by Oswald Peraza and in the eighth by Neto, along with an RBI single by Nolan Schanuel to drive in Mike Trout.

On the mound, Grayson Rodriguez (1-1) survived a rough 5.2 innings, giving up seven hits and four earned runs. He struck out five Rangers and walked two.

With the win, the Angels are 18-35 and still in fifth place in the American League West. The Rangers are 24-26 and in third in the ALW.

Dodgers brewed up in Milwaukee

The Blue Crew fell into a 5-0 hole early and didn’t have much luck climbing out in a loss in Milwaukee.

The Dodgers (31-20) remain in first in the National League West, but their lead was cut to a half-game after the San Diego Padres’ win.

For Milwaukee the key hit was three-run homer by William Contreras in the first inning. The Dodgers were held to three hits with the sole run driven in by Shohei Ohtani.

Justin Wrobleski (6-2) had a night to forget for LAD, giving up eight hits and five runs in five innings. He struck out four Brewers and walked two.
