A fire at an apartment complex Monday night in Garden Grove displaced 10 people and caused an estimated $115,000 in damage.
According to Capt. Thanh Nguyen, spokesman for the Garden Grove Fire Department, the fire in the 13000 block of Casa Linda Lane was reported at 10:37 p.m. Arriving firefighters found garages on fire below second story apartments.
They were able to confine the blaze to four garages, with smoke damage to one upstairs unit.
All residents had been evacuated before the fire department arrival and there were no reports of injuries. It took firefighters 20 minutes to knock down the fire.
Two vehicles parked in the garages were damaged and surrounding units were examined to see if they are habitable.
The cause of the fire is unknown. Damage to the building was estimated at $50,000 to the structure and $65,000 to contents.
