School board incumbents winning

RESULTS from the 2018 general election for the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Stanton-Westminster area for school boards.

Voters in the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Stanton-Westminster area went to polls to on Tuesday to pick the leaders for their public schools systems, and mostly they re-elected incumbents.

In at least one case, though, an office-holder appeared to be losing, as the vote count continues. As of 10 a.m., the Orange County Registrar of Voters reported that 418,600 ballots remained to be counted countywide.

Garden Grove Unified School District

  • District 4: Bob Harden* 4,258, Katelyn Brazer 2,222, George Reis 805.

Huntington Beach Union High School District (three elected)

  • Bonnie Castrey* 35,421, Diana Lee Carey 34,646, Duane Dishno* 33,152.

Huntington Beach City School District (three elected)

  • Paul Marrow* 10,998, Diana Marks 9,078, Shari Kowalke* 8,707.

Ocean View School District (three elected)

  • Patricia Singer* 11,340, John Briscoe* 10,190, Jack Souders* 9,835.

Westminster School District

  • District 4: Xavier Nguyen 1,090, Virginia Torres 611, Elena Cervantez 215.
  • District 5: Jeremy Khalaf 1,853, Peggy Loomer* 1,456.
