Monday’s corona tally at 886

IN ORANGE COUNTY, the reports of coronavirus cases were at Monday at 886 (Pexels/Cottonbor).

Note to readers: Delays and other problems in the computation of statistics related to the coronavirus pandemic in Orange County may result in widely-varying tallies from day to day.

Monday’s count of new COVID-19 positive cases reported to the Orange County Health Care Agency is 886. There were no deaths.

The new to-date total for Orange County is 40,527; the count for deaths is 724. The test-positivity figure is at 7.4 percent, a decrease from 7.7 percent on Sunday. That number indicates what portion of those tested positive for the infection regardless of whether they have symptoms. Eight percent is the threshold, or goal.

Here’s a list of the OC cities with the most cases. Deaths are in parentheses.

  • Santa Ana: 7,826 (193).
  • Anaheim: 6,912 (170).
  • Garden Grove: 2,198 (29).
  • Orange: 1,853 (26).
  • Huntington Beach: 1,810 (51).

Westminster has 723 cases and 19 deaths; Stanton has 490 cases and seven deaths.
