The Westminster City Council will welcome a new member when it holds its annual reorganization meeting Wednesday night.

Carlos Manzo, who will serve as the council member representing District 2, will be sworn in, as will Kimberly Ho, a returning member who will represent District 3, as the city makes its transition to electing its council from an at-large basis to district elections. The council will also select a new vice mayor.

Also on the agenda for the meeting – which will be held via web conference beginning at 7 p.m. – are consideration of adopting local campaign contribution limits for municipal elections and consideration of Mayor Tri Ta’s proposal for the construction of the “Retaken of the Historic Quang Tri Citadel Commemorative Monument,” recognizing a victory by South Vietnamese forces during the Easter offensive in 1972.

A special closed session will follow at 8 p.m. On the agenda are negotiation with Sheldon Development LLC regarding “price and terms of payment” for development in Civic Center as well as considering candidates for city manager.

The next meeting of the city council will be Jan. 13.
