
CORONAVIRUS cases are falling across the U.S. and Orange County but not across some other areas of California (Shutterstock).
Two of the metrics used to measure the impact of the coronavirus on Orange County showed modest increases and two showed modest decreases in Wednesday’ report.
According to the county health care agency, confirmed new cases rose from 29 to 31 and deaths from zero to three.
Hospitalizations due to the coronavirus declined from 63 to 58 and the number of patients being treated for COVID-19 in intensive care units dropped from 15 to 14.
To date, the numbers of cases in the OC have totaled 255,322, of which 249,140 are considered to have recovered. Deaths are at 5,068.
Across the U.S., The New York Times is estimating that new cases have declined 24 percent over a 14-day period, with deaths down 44 percent.
In the Golden State, the Los Angeles Times is estimating a 14 percent increase in new cases and 15 percent hike in deaths.
