Council agenda has variety

A variety of items ranging from homelessness to angled parking to beautification are on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting of the Stanton City Council.

The meeting will be held in person at City Hall, 7800 Katella Ave. with a closed session at 5 p.m. and a regular session at 6:30 p.m.

On the agenda are:

  • an amendment to a lease agreement with Jamboree Housing to use property at 11870 Beach Blvd. as part of the adjacent Tahiti Motel permanent supportive housing program for the homeless;
  • consideration of an ordinance allowing angled parking on Village Center Drive from the southern city limit to Beach Boulevard;
  • consideration of a beautification awards program to recognize residents that demonstrate community pride.

Public Safety Committee to meet

What’s being done to address three of the most pressing problems in Stanton?

The city’s Public Safety Committee will meet in person on Wednesday at 6 p.m at  city hall, 7800 Katella Ave.

The panel will receive updates and hold discussions on homelessness, gambling and massage establishments, in the city and prostitution.
