David is giving Goliath a punch in the mouth as Ukrainian troops are pushing back invading Russian forces in the east and south of this country.
According to the Associated Press, Russian troops have been pulled back from two area the Kharkiv region as a Ukrainian counteroffensive – boosted by high-tech weapons from the United States and allies – has them outgunned and outfought.
“The Russian army in these days is demonstrating the best thing it can do – showing its back,” said Ukrainian President Volodymyr. “And, of course, it’s a good decision for them to run.”

The 73-year-old Prince Charles was officially proclaimed King of Great Britain on Saturday in an historic televised ceremony in London.
He officially was proclaimed King Charles III at St. James Palace. He ascended to the throne after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, 96, on Thursday. Her body will lie in state in Scotland’s St. Giles Cathedral.
“My mother have an example of lifelong love and of selfless service,” the new king said, according to The New York Times.”Even as we grieve, we give thanks for this most faithful life.”
Sports: ‘Bama hangs on to win
The number one-ranked Alabama (now 2-0) college football team survived a scare Saturday afternoon in Austin but prevailed to win 20-19 over Texas. Will Reichard hit a 33-yard field goal with 10 seconds to play to seal the win.
UCLA (now 2-0) defeated Alabama State 45-7. USC (2-0) beat Stanford 41-28 in a Pac-12 conference game.
In Major League Baseball, the Los Angeles Angels (61-78) defeated the Astros in Houston 6-1, Mike Trout hit a three-run home run and Shohei Ohtani (12-8) pitched five innings, giving up six hits and one earned run. He struck out seven and walked two.
The Los Angeles Dodgers (95-43) defeated the Padres in San Diego this evening by the score of 8-4. Freddie Freeman hit his 19th homer of the year and drove in four runs. Julio Urias (16-7) worked seven innings, giving up five hits and two earned runs. He walked two and struck out five.
Weather: Clouds, rain, thunder
The West Orange County area can expect a late summer mix of rain, cloud, sun and possible thunderstorms on Sunday and into the new week. According to the National Weather Service, Sunday will see a 40 percent chance of rain and thunder, with a daytime high of 84 and an overnight low of 70. Monday will be similar but the temps will decline to 81 (66) and the chance of rain fall to 30 percent. Tuesday is expected to bring patchy fog and some sun with a high of 80 (66).
