Considerations of two celebrations top the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting of the Garden Grove City Council.

The council will take up a request from the Giac An Buddhist Monastery to host a two-day Buddha’s Birthday Festival at Garden Grove Park on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5, 2024.

Attendance is expected to be around 3,000 people and all direct costs to the city would be reimbursed by the applicant.

Also on the agenda is a request from LFA (Large Format Assembly) to extend operating hours at the Garden Amphitheater on New Year’s Eve from 10 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. and make an exemption from the municipal noise ordinance during that time.

The council will meet in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave. at 6:30 p.m.
