The unexpected decision to take no action on the proposal for “outsourcing” the city’s public library system by the Huntington Beach City Council wasn’t the only item that didn’t get approved.
A proposed ordinance to extend for another 10 years a pipeline franchise agreement with Cardinal Pipeline LP for the operation and maintenance of a pipeline system for the transportation of old, gas, and other hydrocarbons was withdrawn.
Cardinal has held the franchise since 2015. Currently the city receives $117,024 annually in proceeds.
The city council did approve an affordable housing agreement between the city and a developer for a 13-unit affordable townhomes at 7225 Edinger Ave.
The next council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 2 in the Council Chambers, 2000 Main St. (at Yorktown Avenue).
