Shohei Ohtani continued to nail his name into the record books on Friday as he hit his 52nd home run of the 2024 season in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 6-4 win over the Colorado Rockies.

He also stole his 52nd base, drove in two runs and scored twice to help the Blue Crew improve its record to 92-62. The Dodgers now hold a four-game lead over the second place San Diego Padres in the National League West and have secured a place in the playoffs.

Andy Pages and Teo Hernandez also homered.

The Dodgers used eight pitchers with the win going to Alex Vesta (4-4), who pitched one inning, gave up a home run but struck out two batters.

The Los Angeles Angels continued their end-of-the season skid, losing 9-7 to the Houston Astros. The division-leading Houston team jumped out to an early 6-1 lead and the Angels could never quite catch up, despite getting 13 hits.

Taylor Anderson (10-14) was rocked for eight hits and six runs (three of them earned) in two innings.

Eric Wagaman went 3-for-5 for the Halos with two RBIs and two runs scored as he pushed his batting average to .282. Kevin Pillar homered (his eighth) for the Angels, now 62-92 and in fifth place in the American League West.
