No, there’s not a flood. And it may not be your fault if your favorite soup tastes like no one’s favorite minestrone.
The Water Division of the City of Westminster will be flushing the fire hydrants and performing routine water system maintenance in two areas of the city.
Oct. 8 to 9 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the area between Magnolia Street and Ward Street, and from Edinger Avenue to McFadden Avenue;
Oct. 15-16 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Meinhardt Road and Edward Street from Westminster Boulevard to Garden Grove Boulevard.
Residents are advised that the process may create a temporary discoloration of the water, so it’s recommended that customers postpone laundry and use bottled water for cooking or drinking if needed. The water is still safe but it may not look or taste as it usually does.
You’ll see water flowing along streets and gutters but that’s normal and part of the process, according to the city’s water division. It doesn’t signify a leak or a broken water line.
HBUHSD, GGUSD earn A’s
The list of “Best School Districts” in California as ranked by niche.com listed two local school systems with “A” grades.
Huntington Beach Union High School District (9-12) was given an A+ mark, while the Garden Grove Unified School District (K-12) was rated A.
Also, the HBUHSD was ranked 12th best in the state.
Evaluations are based on criteria such as college preparation, class size, diversity and other factors.
