TWO persons were arrested late Saturday after a mob robbed a convenience store in Huntington Beach.

In what’s being described by some as a “flash mob robbery,” a group of people from a private party bus looted a convenience store in Huntington Beach late Saturday night.

HBPD-shoulder-patch-61r1w3vwjfrooiczqaavs0v9sfkbt6pers44yteieg2According to the HBPD, the incident occurred just after 11 p.m. at the 7-11 store at 706 Pacific Coast Highway. A witness told police that a large group entered the store and some people grabbed items while others assaulted the clerk. Members of the group re-boarded the bus, which traveled north on PCH but was quickly stopped by police a short distance away.

About 80 people were on the bus and Huntington Beach police called in mutual aid from other cities. Each person was taken off the bus and detained during the investigation. Seven loaded handguns were found and recovered on the bus.

Arrested were Isiah Bryant, 21, of Los Angeles and Wynzel Worthan, 18, of Compton, on charges of robbery and conspiracy.

The other occupants were interviewed and released. The investigation is continuing.
