Huntington Beach has the best “Quality of City Services” in the nation, according to a website’s ranking of 150 cities across the United States. Additionally, Surf City was ranked 15th in WalletHub’s list of “Best-Run Cities in America.”
In the rankings released by www.wallethub.com , Huntington Beach is the top-rated Orange County city and best in California as well. Other OC cities in the survey are Santa Ana (51st) and Anaheim (111th).
The website analyzed data from large cities, grouped into six service categories, then measured that against the city’s total per-capita budget.
“It’s refreshing to see Huntington Beach ranked so high in offering the best quality of life to our residents, businesses and visitors – and it’s being noticed nationally,” said City Manager Fred Wilson.
The top-rated city was Nampa, Idaho. Other California cities surveyed were San Diego (57th), Fremont (64th), San Jose (75th), Bakersfield (99th), Modesto (108th), Riverside (110th), Los Angeles (131st), Long Beach (134th) and San Francisco (147th).
According to WalletHub, Washington. D.C. is the worst-run city in the nation at 150th.
WalletHub is the same organization that, earlier this year, rated Huntington Beach as sixth “Happiest Place to Live” in the United States. Garden Grove was ranked 14th and Anaheim 18th.
It rated Washington D.C. the 10th happiest city in the nation, although it ranked it as the “worst run.”
