In other action involving schools serving the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Westminster area, Huntington Beach was upset 34-8 by Newport Harbor in a Sunset League contest. The Oilers fell to 4-4 overall and 2-1 in league.

Ducks get first win of season

After a 0-3-1 start, the Anaheim Ducks finally posted their first win of the 2016-17 season with a 3-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers at the Wells Fargo Center. Ryan Garbutt scored the game-winner for the Orange County team in third quarter. Others lighting the red lamp for the Ducks were Chris Wagner and Corey Perry. The Ducks (1-3-1) come home Sunday to the Honda Center to host the Vancouver Canucks (4-0).
